The main rivalry for Everton is with fellow Liverpool team Liverpool Football Club and the two teams annually clash in what is known as the Merseyside Derby, which is one of the better known rivalry games in English football.
The home colors of Everton have been royal blue and white for over 100 years while their away kit consists of a gold shirt with blue trimmings and dark blue shorts. The most famous Everton player is typically recognized to be Dixie Dean, who also happens to be Everton’s top goalscorer. Dean played with Everton from 1925 to 1937 and managed to score 349 goals in 399 appearances with the team. Dean also holds the record for most goals in a single season with 60.
